Our Guests regularly enjoy Hershey and all the sweet things the community has to offer, year ‘round. While some attractions are seasonal, the majority are open all year long! (Chocolate World and Hershey Theatre are excellent examples.)
Hersheypark now offers something huge and new, arriving summer 2020: The Candymonium coaster–the tallest, fastest, longest, and sweetest coaster in Hersheypark®. From the distinctive Hershey’s candy theme to the memorable thrills around every turn, Hersheypark has masterfully assembled the finest ingredients to create a one-of-a-kind Bolliger & Mabillard hyper coaster. Candymonium opens inside Hershey’s Chocolatetown region this summer!
- Hershey Theatre—Milton Hershey built this rival to Radio City Music Hall with timeless elegance. A multimillion dollar restoration recently revealed gilt gold vaulted ceilings and architectural treasures at every turn. See off Broadway shows, the latest acts touring the country, and even touring megastar bands. Your innkeeper’s husband loved hearing the Moody Blues here a few years back.
- Giant Center—Home of The Hershey Bears, venue for all the latest big-name touring bands, dance troupes, speakers and other events.
- Hersheypark Stadium (aka “Star Pavilion”) Touring “Arena Rock” and other big performances are booked in here every year to the thrill of crowds who love a rousing outdoor performance.
The Hershey Arena where Wilt Chamberlain made his famous 100 point game on March 2, 1962. This large building is a predominant landmark that is a practice ice skating rink and also home to certain occasional events. When built in 1936 as the Hershey Sports Arena, the building was the largest monolithic structure in the United States in which not a single seat suffered from an obstructed view.
Hershey Gardens
When your Innkeeper Rosalie’s husband was Director of Hershey Gardens, the botanical gardens were featured in a special Discover Channel episode; listed in The World’s Top 100 Gardens you Must See, and numerous other aspects of acclaim. Thrill to over 7,500 roses, rare trees, a beautiful arboretum, and the results of planning Craig and his board did in the “early days,” a beautiful indoor butterfly house and plant conservatory.
The Hershey Story
This new museum replaced the aging “Hershey Museum” and took on a new name, more descriptive of its mission. The first floor is free, except for chocolate tasting, gift shop and similar activities. A small charge admits you to the upper floor to enjoy seeing a step by step timeline of the evolution of the Hershey story, including early products and packaging. Many exhibitions are interactive, creating a fun learning experience.
Milton Hershey School and Founders Hall
Revenue profits from many Hershey Entertainment and Resort properties are funneled into the chance of a lifetime for many school age children: The Milton Hershey School. Mr. Hershey and his wife, Kitty, did not have children, and instead provided for orphans and later other children as well when they created a world-class living and schooling experience. The Hershey Trolley, which you board at Chocolate World, drives by Founders Hall and a portion of the sprawling campus. You can also arrange for a tour of Founders Hall, which will leave a positive, indelible impression on nearly everyone who visits.
Zoo America
Adjacent to Hersheypark, and accessible on foot or via elevated tramway, this wildlife park specializes in North American Wildlife. The 11-acre zoo is also a botanical garden featuring stunning plant displays along with animals from regions throughout North America.
