The Lebanon Farmer’s Market; Historic and Architecturally Beautiful
The Lebanon Farmer’s Market is a jewel of the Lebanon Valley. It is in the historic Market House. Seated in the heart of Lebanon’s Downtown Historic District, it is a hubbub of activity on market days which are Thursday through Saturday.
Annville Inn’s Guests enjoy taking a quick 8-minute drive to the Market and surrounding businesses. In addition to enjoying the gorgeous market and fascinating architecture, visitors enjoy free parking in a large, dedicated lot. Metered street parking is available in front, however the free lot located at the rear entrance of the Market makes it the more popular option.

The Historic Lebanon Farmer’s Market Surrounded by Amazing Architecture
The Lebanon Farmers Market is within blocks of a brewery, cidery, art gallery, restaurants, the acclaimed Wertz Chocolate factory store and more. Historic buildings surround the Farmer’s Market. Amazing architecture is predominant in the area surrounding the Market. We suggest after your visit inside, that you stroll around the neighborhood. Take in the inspiring works of architectural art that are around every corner.
This beautifully restored building stands in a historic structure completed in 1892. Moreover, it was originally the site of a “castle-looking” structure that once was the county prison. Following the closure of the prison, the structure was razed. Subsequently, the beautiful purpose-built market rose from the ashes. It took two years of constant construction and hundreds of craftsmen to complete the vast building.

Four Levels Reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell Painting
The Lebanon Farmers Market consists of four levels, with easy elevator access to all floors. The floor above the main floor is a mezzanine, open on all sides to the main floor below. Above the mezzanine are enormous sky lights the size of a small building. These allow shafts of light to beam in, down through the mezzanine, and onto the market’s main floor. The light shafts illuminate the main level stalls when the sunlight is strong. The effect is striking, and adds both drama and a magical vibe to the Market. We describe it as a scene reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting!
Many Saturday mornings, after a scrumptious candlelit gourmet breakfast created by Rosalie, your Innkeeper, our Guests drive down to the Farmer’s Market. At the Market and surrounding neighborhood, they find treasures to take back home. Some “finds” are for the kitchen, and others—often arts or crafts—are taken back home as gifts.

At Annville Inn Guests can enjoy luxury Guest rooms with fireplaces, jacuzzies, private decks, a 20-seat movie theatre, game room, and three acres of spectacular gardens. The outdoor areas feature over 550 roses and thousands of plants. Additionally, one will find three ponds, one with a bridge. An outdoor maze with several “rooms” awaits exploration. Don’t forget to check out the two newest gardens, “The Stumpery” as well as the nascent Sculpture Garden. The new Sculpture Garden was launched with the abstract 12-ft. long sculpture, “Alex” by artist Peter Punchello.
Many a Guest’s vehicle has returned home following a visit to Annville Inn and the Lebanon Farmers Market with its trunk packed with fresh produce from our lush, fertile Lebanon Valley. Perhaps you will be the next to take home something grown or created here in our Valley!
