Authentic Mexican Restaurants to try in Our Area

Four authentic Mexican restaurants to try in our area will deliver a broad array of menu selections, sauces, tastes and atmosphere.

Nowadays, Four Mexican Restaurants to try can be found very close to Annville Inn. However, when Rosalie and Craig came to Annville to build the Annville Inn, there weren’t any Mexican Restaurants close by, except one in Harrisburg, another in Lancaster.  Further out in Reading, Kennett Square and even State College, PA there were some excellent choices, but not here in the Hershey area, or in our valley.

Today, our Guests have four excellent Mexican Restaurants to Try.  We offer these four because of consistent high reviews by our Guests who have dined in them, atmosphere and dining experience and moreover…quality and variety on the menu.

• Plaza Azteca, about 30 minutes away at most.  Includes very pleasant outdoor dining, and a large upstairs dining room with high backed comfortable booths, tables and an attractive bar/dining area as well as a pub atmosphere downstairs. Known for a wide variety on the menu, and items not normally available at  Mexican Restaurants in the Hershey region such as grilled white fish enchiladas and more authentic takes on traditional Mexican fare. The family that owns Plaza Azteca also has a restaurant in Reading and Kennett Square.

• MIAA Mexican Bistro, Palmyra about 11 minutes away. This restaurant was reviewed in the chic “Susquehanna Style” magazine, and they raved about the restaurant’s sauces. 

Alicia Martinez grew up in Jalisco, on the west coast of Mexico!  There, Alicia’s mom owned a restaurant. When Alicia came to the U.S., she worked for 17 years for a local business owner before she and her husband ventured out on their own to create MIAA Cafe.  Alicia, her mother and several of her children cook everything “homemade.”

• El Rodeo, about 17 minutes away. Our newest Mexican Restaurant to try.  Opened last year near Penn State Hershey Medical Center.  Heavily decorated, creating a unique dining experience.  Two of our regular guests from Oklahoma dine there a couple of times during each stay at Annville Inn.

• Rey Azteca, about 9 minutes away.  Beautiful Mexican tile work throughout including the bathrooms and waiting area, as well as dramatic Aztec themed artwork on the walls.  Traditional Mexican and Tex-Mex served quickly, includes a bar with 3-ft. high margaritas!
