Horseback Riding Near Hershey Pa. fits well into the founder of Annville Inn’s plans.  Rosalie George, Your Innkeeper, along with husband Craig, established Annville Inn nearly 20 years ago. They designed it to be more than” just a place to stay.”  Their vision was an elegant yet casual Bed & Breakfast that itself was a destination. We find our Guests love coming here just to get away to the quiet countryside for many reasons. Often, they do enjoy getting out and seeing the sights. There are 35 wineries and vineyards in our immediate area. Many come for live performances, fine dining, antiquing, nature centers, and art galleries.

How about “out of the box” ideas?   We have had scuba divers, quilters, and scrapbookers. We’ve had folks coming from far away to take a blacksmithing course (and make decorative swords!) Horseback Riding Near Hershey PA: LESSONS AND TRAIL RIDES!

Trail Rides are an enjoyable pastime that many Guests enjoy.  Horseback Riding near Hershey, Pa. is a growing interest among our Guests.  For example, we have regular guests who come from Northern Virginia to make Annville Inn their home away from home.  We call “Frank & Sherry” our “Mr. and Mrs. Christmas” due to their enthusiasm of our extensive Christmas Decorations and area Christmas musicals.  (Musicals and shows are always playing in the Hershey-Lancaster-Lebanon-Harrisburg area around Christmastime.)

This past week Frank & Sherry came to Annville Inn to go Horseback Riding Near Hershey Pa.  They took three different trail ride excursions in as many days. 

They very much enjoyed Stone Gables Estates, just south and a bit west of Annville Inn, at the famed Star Barn complex. Located in Stone Gables Estates, it is a collection of world-class historic restorations. The crown of the historic campus is the amazing “Star Barn.”

“The facilities were outstanding, the trails beautiful.  There was a wonderful outdoor patio area with a fireplace with an enormous chimney that was a visual anchor for the immediate area.  Exemplary experience, gorgeous surroundings,” they said when describing Stone Gables trail rides to us.

Hickory Hollow Ranch

Their other two trail ride experiences were at Hickory Hollow Ranch in Gettysburg.  Gettysburg is about

1-1/4  hours south of us.  We have Guests making the excursion over there all the time to take in the historic experiences and sights there.  Other Guests go there for ‘trail rides through history’.  A quick Internet search will reveal over 20 stables in the area, many offering historic rides.  Frank and Sherry chose Hickory Hollow Ranch for two of their trail rides on two different days.

“The history there comes alive. Our first day in Gettysburg was spent riding the Gettysburg Battlefield along Emmitsburg Road looking up at the Seminary Ridge vicinity of Pickett’s Charge’s staging area.  History literally envelopes you as you take these historic rides,” they said.  “Our second day riding the Gettysburg battlefield, the trail took us along General Longstreet’s staging area. It also went to the Union Sharpshooter’s monument.” they added. The ranch is close enough, we still consider it ”Horseback Riding Near Hershey Pa.”

Winsome Farm

Much closer to Annville Inn than Gettysburg is one of our area’s outstanding trail ride experiences, Winsome Farm.  The popular Winsome Farm features more than just trail rides.  Riders can also enjoy karaoke nights, a swimming pool, and other special events throughout the year. Check their website for the latest news. They are well established in the “horse business” providing breeding, offering stables, and raising champion horses.

“We also offer dedicated horseback riding lessons.  All our trail rides offer training before the ride if the rider wishes. We will answer as many questions as you want to ask,”  Leda, the founder/owner of Winsome Farm, told Annville Inn.

“We want to provide a well-informed, very enjoyable experience to all our riders,” she added.  Leda also told us about their breeding specialty, “We are the home of our magnificent Kentucky Ice breed!” she exclaimed.

The End of the Day…

Coming back “home” to Annville Inn after a day on the trail (while Horseback Riding near Hershey, Pa.) is soothing.  Guests often like to kick back in the Jacuzzi in their Annville Inn Guest room, or they enjoy a dip in our large swimming pool, or lounge deckside. They can also take in our large outdoor hot tub. Perhaps a massage in our dedicated spa. Others enjoy a leisurely walk through our three acres of gardens using their own legs, (since the horse’s are back in the stable ). Also, you can relax in the cool Annville Inn Movie Theatre, enjoying a movie or show on our 72” high-definition screen. The theater is equipped with Dolby 7.1 surround sound, designed for a small commercial movie house! (Fantastic in our space). So much to see and do at Annville Inn!

The following morning, after Horseback Riding near Hershey, Pa. our Guests always awaken to one of Rosalie’s spectacular breakfasts!  Ahh….what a wonderful Get Away!
