The Susquehanna Art Museum and World Class Gallery
The Susquehanna Art Museum is the feature of today’s post. We are fortunate to be very close to two exemplary art galleries, The Susquehanna Art Museum and the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery.
If you enjoy visual and performing arts, you have come to the right place here in the Lebanon Valley. Supported by Lebanon Valley College, Visit Lebanon Valley and businesses here in the Valley, the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery is another must see. Only five minutes from Annville Inn, one could almost walk to the Gallery! Please see our previous blog dedicated to the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery.

The Susquehanna Art Museum has steadily ramped up and improved over the past twenty years. We have followed the Museum from its beginning to its board’s securing a visionary leader, Executive Director Alice Anne Schwab. Ms. Schwab ushered in the expansion and improvements we enjoy today.
Today, the Museum is in a world-class facility, launched from the acquisition of the original Keystone Trust Company’s stately building. Following a magnificent restoration and major addition, the Museum opened in its new location in January of 2015. Fittingly, it has become one of the region’s “must see” features.

The museums sparkling facility allows visitors to focus on art as the visual anchor in any of its rooms. Moreover, clean lines and large galleries architecturally provide a sense of perspective while allowing visitors to focus on the displays. This creates an opportunity to study and interpret the Museum’s carefully curated exhibitions.
Ever-Changing and Permanent Exhibitions at the Susquehanna Art Museum
Visitors discover a variety of galleries house changing and permanent exhibitions. The Susquehanna Art Museum has numerous programs for residents including a mobile museum (the “VanGo! Museum on Wheels”). Outreach includes school programs in addition to visiting artist programs and other outreach methodologies designed to reach as many people as possible.

Exhibitions are well thought through and focus on various topics of art throughout the year. Currently, a major exhibition focuses on the fascinating intersection of art, memory, and environmental legacy.
The galleries feature the work of local, regional, national, and international artists.
The Susquehanna Art Museum exhibition, Future Fossils, inspires…fires imaginations…and ignites the desire to seek answers to questions (such as “What will we leave behind that is important, or perhaps commonplace to us, but of great significance later?” “Our societies discard objects; we also chose to preserve physical and digital objects. What will that tell future generations about us?”)
